William Shockley has crafted a 30+ year career in Hollywood as an actor, writer, producer and director. Shockley was born in Lawrence, KS, then wandered through Texas in his youth, an unwitting gypsy chasing the sun. He always dreamt of Los Angeles. While doing theater in Dallas, Paul Verhoeven provided Shockley his first audition, and cast him in the cult classic ROBOCOP. His LA dream came true.

Shockley most recently directed LONG SHADOWS, an American Period Piece, for Tiki Tāne Pictures, starring Blaine Maye, Sarah Cortez, Grainger Hines, Jacqueline Bisset, Dominic Monaghan and Dermot Mulroney. He will also star on screen in THE QUEEN MARY with Alice Eve, NATTY KNOCKS with Robert Englund and Bill Mosley, MARTINGALE with Kelly Sullivan, and FAR HAVEN with Bailey Chase.

Shockley followed ROBOCOP with a burst of film roles, starring in HOWLING: REBIRTH with Phil Davis, THE ADVENTURES OF FORD FAIRLANE with Andrew Dice Clay, GIRL IN THE CADILLAC with Erika Elaniak, DREAM LOVER with James Spader and Madchen Amick, THE JOYRIDERS with Martin Landau and Kris Kristofferson and MADISON with Jim Caviezel and Bruce Dern.

Paul Verhoeven cast Shockley for a second time to star in the cult classic SHOWGIRLS.

Shockley has also worked in numerous television projects. He won over audiences for six years as ‘Hank Lawson’ in CBS’ highly regarded drama, “Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman”, starring Jane Seymour. As evidence to his character’s popularity, Shockley was given a development deal by CBS and starred in his own series, a Dr. Quinn spin-off series, “California”.

Shockley also starred opposite Whoopi Goldberg in the CBS sitcom, “Bagdad Cafe”, and opposite Teri Garr in the ABC sitcom, “Good & Evil”.

As a screenwriter, Shockley has co-written 12 feature scripts that have been made into films.

He is a member of p.g.a. and has produced 10 feature films and 3 TV movies.

In the world of music, Shockley performs with Tommy Fields in the group, “Shockley & Fields”. The duo won ‘Runner Up’ in the 2018 ‘Song of the Year’ competition with their song, “Never Gonna Say Die”. The judges included Dave Grohl and Steven Tyler . Shockley & Fields wrote the soundtrack for the Hallmark film “Love in Design” and had songs featured in the Hallmark film “Home by Spring” and the feature film “You’re Gonna Miss Me”. Their song “Tucson” was licensed by Visit Tucson and featured in a National TV campaign.

In addition, Shockley and Jonathan Yudkin produced 5 songs for country music singer Kellie Pickler, that appeared in the Hallmark film “Christmas at Graceland”.
