Allen Gilmer first got involved in the film industry in 2015 when he helped finance a documentary that won the SxSW Audience Favorite Award.  Alcohol was involved in that decision. He and his wife Riki Rushing then followed on the documentary trail by helping Director and Producer Tara Wood finish the very successful QT8, a documentary covering Quentin Tarantino’s first 8 films.

Most recently, Allen and Riki were Executive Producers for Long Shadows, an American Period Piece starring Blaine Maye, Sarah Cortez, Jacqueline Bisset, Dominic Monaghan, and Dermot Mulroney. Their first feature film to produce was “Death In Texas”, starring Ronnie Gene Blevins, “the Most Killed Man in Hollywood”, Bruce Dern, Lara Flynn Boyle, John Ashton, William Shockley, and Steven Lang. They added Distribution to their repertoire when they produced and distributed their next feature “Frank & Penelope”, the directorial debut of Sean Patrick Flannery of “Powder” and “Boondock Saints” fame, and starring newcomers Caylee Cowan and Billy Budinich and featuring veterans Kevin Dillon, Jonathon Schaech, Donna D’Errico and Lyn Shea, and where they reconnected with William Shockley and met Tom Brady, director and writer of such notable projects as “The Hot Chick”, and many of the Tiki Tāne team. 

Allen and Riki then helped produce Castro’s Daughter starring Ana Vilafane, Mia Maestro and James Franco and produced the followup documentary tentatively titled Revolution’s Daughter before helping found Tiki Tāne Pictures. 

Prior to the film industry, Allen cofounded and spend 20 years as CEO and Chairman of the Board of what became the world’s largest software as a service (SaaS) business in energy. He grew up in El Paso, Texas and has called Texas, New Mexico, or Mexico home for most of his life.
