Aldo Waker has been a financial professional for more than 40 years. After graduating from Connecticut State University in 1980, he started working at the accounting firm Grant Thornton in Boston, one of the world’s leading organizations of independent audit, tax and advisory firms. After working in the audit and tax departments, he helped develop and implement consulting advisory services to their small business clients.

In 1990 Aldo was accepted into the Community Oriented Primary Care Fellowship program at Boston University, a collaboration between the medical and business schools. He worked closely with medical professionals and others to craft unique delivery systems and programs that served specific communities, as well as earning a Masters degree in public health and business. He went on to work as Chief Financial Officer for healthcare organizations around the Boston area before moving to Austin, TX in 1997.

In Austin, Aldo helped facilitate the merger of city and county health departments and expand the local community healthcare network. He became interested in helping individuals plan for their retirement and In 2005 formed Waker Financial focusing on crafting financial strategies for individuals and their families. Realizing that many of his clients were also business owners, he founded Austin Bookkeeping in 2012 to provide local businesses with CFO oversight, accounting, payroll, and bookkeeping services.

In addition to managing Waker Financial and Austin Bookkeeping, Aldo has worked with members of the Tiki Tāne Pictures team since 2019 providing financial support and oversight on film projects such as Frank & Penelope and Death in Texas. He is active with several professional associations and advises many local start-ups, established corporations, and nonprofit organizations.
